Typically, a Juris Doctorate will take at least 3 years to complete. Part time law school programs will take longer, obviously. But even if you enroll in one of the part time law school programs offered today, you will still need to pass the Law School Admissions Test and have a bachelor’s degree. The test that you will take will most likely depend on the aspect of law that you want to specialize in.
In terms of part time law school programs specializations, there are several for you to choose from. It is best to choose an area to practice based on your interests. If you want to champion protecting Mother Earth, you can go into environmental law. If you want to settle domestic disputes, you can practice family law. If you want to become a law that handles business-related affairs, going into corporate law is ideal for you. After you have earned all necessary credits for one of the part time law school programs that you have enrolled in, you will need to take some time to review for your state’s bar examinations. Once you pass, you will be able to find better employment in law firms or other big businesses that need the services of lawyers. With time and experience, you will be earning a 6-figure income soon enough.
